Seriously, coming up on two months that I've had this game, and it's still practically the only thing I'm playing, though I did just progress in Metroid Prime 2 today for the first time in...a year and a half? I don't know. Anyway, I've been wanting to try to do some Pokémon fan art for a while, and I finally got myself to do it two nights ago. Just some sketches scribbled on my Psych final question sheet.

Incidentally, it was between 2 and 3 a.m. when I did them, so that may explain why they turned out the way they did: I tried out the conventional style first, which turned out a very nice Xatu, and an excellent (by my standards) Natu, and a few others of...questionable quality ("special" Tyrogue, anyone?) I also tried out an alternate, cutesier style, á la 's incredible "Pokemon Lunch", with mixed results: a fairly cute Ampharos, and a positively adorable Sunkern, but also a really, really strange Elekid. I'll post them in my scraps as soon as I feel like scanning them...which may not be for a while now.

I've also really been wanting to do something for the for a while, but my anatomy skills on anything more complicated than the average snail need a lot of work - even simple, stylized humans give me no end of trouble unless I spend days on them (which I don't have the patience for, unfortunately). But a couple of days ago I had a brainwave: look for clothes and accessories that fit the Pokémon, then have myself or one of my friends pose as the Pokémon. I don't think there are any other works like that in the Gijinka dex so far, but their rules do say "any medium" (and I would make such a great Snorlax, too). Or I might just suck it up and practice drawing more.

In other news, today is my last day as a minor, according to the arbitrary designation of "adulthood" laid out by the U-S-of-A. 18th birthday's tomorrow, and I'm going to see the Goo Goo Dolls. Should be fun!
